CNC machine tool is an automatic machine tool equipped with program control system. In the machine tool industry, CNC machine tools are generally based on the number of axes, low-grade under three axes, medium-high-grade three to five axes, and high-grade above five axes.

For industry, the mark of the difference between traditional and modern production equipment is traditional machine tools and numerical control machine tools, which has become the consensus of the industry. Intelligence and automation of single machine tool, i.e. numerical control machine tool, is the direction of machine tool industry. Its high precision, high fineness, high speed, flexibility and intelligence are the symbols of modern industry. Modern equipment industry is developing towards extreme manufacturing. First, it is getting bigger and bigger, second, it is getting smaller and smaller, third, it is becoming more and more complex, and the production process is highly integrated.

After time and technology polishing, China's machine tool industry can only produce 1600 simple belt machine tools in 1949 to 617,000 in 2008, becoming the third largest machine tool producer in the world. Over the past 60 years of development, China's machine tool industry has undergone tremendous changes, but compared with foreign high-end machine tools, there are still some gaps, as long as they are reflected in the following three aspects:

Firstly, there are gaps in accuracy, stability and reliability. For example, the five-axis CNC machine tool has no fault for 1500H in foreign products and 1000H in domestic products, with a difference of 1/3.

Secondly, the gap of CNC system. CNC system is the core of CNC machine tools. German Siemens, Liebherr and Japanese Mazak and Farak have the highest level of CNC system. The cost of 16 software packages of Liebherr CNC system is close to the cost of mother machine. Software and mother machine are sold together, not separately, and the profit of software is very high. At present, the CNC systems of medium and high-grade machine tools used by domestic machine tool enterprises are basically imported from abroad.

Finally, the gap between other key components. Dalian Machine Tool can catch up with 95% of the international advanced level, but the remaining 5% can not be achieved by an enterprise or even an industry, including steel raw materials, standard parts, screws, nuts and so on, which needs to improve the overall level of national industry. In addition, the process, testing and other links are not up to the world's advanced level.
